Peanuts

More than 20,000 acres of peanuts were planted in 2006

The 2005 average yield of 3700 pounds per acre was the 2nd highest state average in the nation

Peanuts have traditionally been grown only in south Mississippi but now they are being used as a rotational crop with cotton in the delta
