| According to an article in the October Catfish Journal both processing and prices were down from a year ago.
Processing for August of 2007 fell 18% from August of 2006. This was the lowest reported August round weight processed since August of 1996.
The average price paid to producers was 73.1 cents per pound, down 8 cents from August of last year.
Imports were up 9% for the month of July.
