NATURAL RESOURCE ENTERPRISES WORKSHOP
There will be a Natural Resources Enterprises Workshop on May 29, 2008 at the Circle M Plantation in Macon, MS. Morning seesions include information on revenue potential, legal considerations, cost-share programs and maketing plans. The afternoon session involves a field tour of the property to view wildlife conservation and enterprise development practices on the ground. POLYTUBING COLLECTION
Delta Plastics recently released its year-end polytubing recovery figures. In 2007, Delta Plastics collected a total of 57,330,575 pounds of polytubing in the five state area of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Texas. Mississippi counties accounted for 13,542,700 pounds of the five state total. When not collected or taken to a landfill, polytubing is often burned or buried creating environmental concerns for the farmer as well as surrounding communities. DHS CHEMICAL FACILITY ANTI-TERRORISM STANDARDS
The "DHS Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards Farm & Ranch Guide." has been sent out by American Farm Bureau Federation. The guide gives a concise description of the regulations, Ag Use Chemicals and Standard Threshold Quantities (STQ's), and a description of the compliance exemption.
