Discussion Meet

The Young Farmer Discussion Meet is a round table discussion of a predetermined topic rather than a debate. The three fundamental bases of general discussion are constructive criticism, cooperation, and communication. With this in mind, the participants' responsibility is to exchange ideas and information in an effort to solve a problem. It gives the contestants valuable experience in communicating in a small group setting. Two contestants from each district will compete in this competition that is held every year during the Mississippi Farm Bureau Annual Meeting.

Prizes

The district winners receive $100 cash from the Federal Land Bank Association of Mississippi.

The four state finalists receive $250 from the Federal Land Bank Association of Mississippi.

The state winner also receives:

4-wheeler from Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company
$500 cash from Ford
$500 from the Federal Land Bank Association of Mississippi
an all expense paid trip to the AFBF Annual Meeting to represent Mississippi in the National Discussion Meet.
