Mississippi Farm Bureau statement on Farm Bill progress

Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation commends Senator Thad Cochran’s leadership on the Farm Bill conference committee, and we are excited to see progress being made on the Farm Bill. Our farmers and ranchers need a dependable safety net in order to continue to provide the safest, most affordable food in the world.

“We support the efforts of Senator Cochran to bring all sides together and work in a bi-partisan manner to complete the Farm Bill. It has been a bumpy road, but we could not have gotten this far without his steadfast leadership and knowledge,” said Randy Knight, president of Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation.

The Senate and House will have an open conference committee meeting on Wednesday, October 30, at 1:00 p.m. ET in the Longworth House Office Building.
